Description
Laboratory Forcep, stainless steel, smooth jaws PTFE coated.

Smooth jaws, particularly suitable for tissue handling samples or other non-marking applications.

Supplied in standard pack of 1.

Features and Benefits
PTFE

PTFE XYLAN® coating provides a non-stick surface to which very few solid or liquid substances will permanently adhere.

Being non-protein binding and not supporting biological growth ideal for biology, microbiology and pharmaceutical applications since PTFE coating provides bio-inert surfaces.
The PTFE coating offers a unique combination of chemical inertness, purity, low permeability, heat resistance, toughness, and non-stick qualities. By combining these materials with stainless steel range of consumables we bring you a versatile line of products that are able to handle extreme temperatures, are inert to practically all chemicals and are non-contaminating.

Cleaning
They have excellent non-wetting properties that makes cleaning very easy and can also undergo steam or chemical sterilization.

High and Low Temperature properties
Excellent heat resistance and great cryogenic stability with a temperature range from -195°C to as high as 260°C. Suitable for lifting or handling hot, cold or chemically active materials.

Corrosion Resistance
The chemical resistance of PTFE coating makes it normally impervious to chemical environments. The coating provides good resistance to acid and alkali solutions. Highly reactive fluorinating agents seem to be the only chemicals to affect it.

Examples of Chemical Resistance after 24 hours exposure
HCI (concentrated) at room temperature, no change to coating.
HCI (pH 2) at room temperature, no change to coating.
HCI (pH 2) at 52°C, no change to coating.
NaOH (50%) at room temperature, no change to coating.
NaOH (pH 9.5) at 52°C, no change to coating.
MEK (Methyl Ethyl Ketone - solvent) at room temperature, slight marks on coating.
Toluene (solvent) at room temperature, slight marks on coating.

Other useful information.

Applied as a self priming single coat PTFE.
The coefficient of friction is generally in the range of 0.05 to 0.20.

No accessories available for this product.
