Description
This digital hotplate features a precision PID control providing degree-by-degree temperature setting and control, for refined hotplate sensitivity. Temperature and time settings are retained in memory, even after power off.

Featuring a hob surface, which overlaps the body to ensure that no spillages enter the controls. The hob is solid aluminium, 12mm thick for excellent thermal properties and uniform heat distribution over its working area.

Painted surfaces and controls feature antibacterial protection and also chemically resistant, easy to wipe clean surfaces. The controls feature a bright LED display indicating measured temperature. Temperature settings can be easily adjusted using the push buttons.

Sand bath kits allow samples to be directly immersed in a dry and high temperature environment. The product accepts standard laboratory retort rods which enable scaffolding to be constructed so that vessels can be heated without direct contact with hot surface.

Featuring bold LED display of measured temperatures in real-time, increments of ±0.1°C, using precision PID temperature control. Setting for hob temperature only or combination of temperature and time. Timer setting variable in 1-minute increments from 00:01 [hh:mm] to 99:59 [hh:mm] with “end” message on completion-timed period. Settings retained even after turning the unit off.

Easy to use splash proof controls, touch keypads for setting time and temperature values with indicators for heating, over temperature alarm and timer. Bold digital LED display.

The hotplate can be set to run at a set temperature or commence the timer once the hob reaches set temperature.

Features auto setting over temperature alarm protecting your work at set temperature.

Every unit undergoes a factory calibration at two temperatures for validation.
Safety Features
The temperature alarm is automatically set 10˚C above set temperature. When in alarm condition the indicator illuminates and actual bath temperature is shown, if hotplate is over temperature heating is switched off. Once hob temperature has fallen below the alarm setting the indicator clears and actual hob temperature is shown.

Sandbath kit for HP1-1 Hotplates.

Sand is placed on the hotplate within the frame formed by Sand Bath kit accessory. A reaction vessel can then be partially covered by sand, which conducts the heat from the plate to all sides of the reaction vessel. This technique allows a reaction vessel to be heated throughout with minimal stirring, as opposed to heating the bottom of the vessel and waiting for convection to heat the remainder, cutting down on both the duration of the reaction and the possibility of side reactions that may occur at higher temperatures.

The sand bath is also better than a water bath or mineral-oil bath at higher temperatures in that there's no open container of liquid to worry about, and sand won't evaporate or impose a particular temperature limit. This is especially useful when something must be heated above 250 °C (the approximate limit for an oil bath).
